Maneet Chauhan was born in the Punjabi city of Ludhiana on October 27, 1976. Hardeep Chauhan is her father’s name. When it comes to her schooling, she attended Manipal University before going on to the Culinary Institute of America. In addition, as an apprentice chef, the chef has worked for the Oberoi Group, Sheraton Group, and Taj Group. Maneet is a descendant of Sikhs.

Maneet then went to the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, where she graduated first in her class. In India, she worked as an apprentice chef for the Oberoi Group, Taj Group, Welcome Group, and Sheraton Group.
Chauhan was employed shortly after graduating in 2000 for a fledgling restaurant in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, where she led a team and increased the restaurant’s capacity from 70 to 140 seats. At the age of 27, she became Vermilion’s first executive chef in Chicago, Illinois, earning her three stars from The Chicago Tribune. She later moved to New York City in 2007 to establish At Vermilion, where she was nominated for “Best Import to New York” by Time Out Magazine. In Indian cuisine, her approach is described as “global fusion with origins.”
