Milla Jovovich moved to London with her family when she was five years old, after her family left the Soviet Union in 1980. She then moved to Sacramento, California, for seven months before settling in Los Angeles. She enrolled in a Los Angeles public school to further her education. She dropped out of seventh grade when she was 12 years old to focus on her modeling career, which she had begun when she was nine years old.
